Visitation for Lucia Teti Devlin, 92, of Palatine, IL, will be held Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass, to celebrate her life, 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine, IL. The Interment at St Michael Catholic Cemetery will be private.

Lucia was born in Mount Vernon, New York on August 20, 1927 After high school, she completed a degree in nursing and worked as a pediatric nurse. She married Hugh F. Devlin on Feb 4, 1956. The family relocated to Palatine in 1966, joining St. Thomas of Villanova parish. Lucia was a kind, loving and gentle caregiver for her family and friends. She loved a good book, a challenging crossword, every dog she ever met, and a beautiful summer evening at Ravinia.

Lucia is survived by her children Hugh (Roberta) Devlin, Mia (John) Shaw, Matthew (Lisa) Devlin, and Lucia A. Devlin; granddaughters Elizabeth (Zak) Fischenich and Emily Shaw; great-granddaughter Amelia Devlin Fischenich; and Matthew’s stepchildren Evan, Caitlin, and Dayn Sommer.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Hugh F. Devlin, and her parents Giuseppe ‘Joseph’ and Maria Donata Teti.

In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to make a lasting tribute honoring the life of Lucia T. Devlin, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to help those in need receive the same compassionate care provided for our family.
