Lucy J. Coteus

Memorial Visitation for Lucy (nee Mourlas) Coteus, 63, of Palatine, will be held Friday, October 25, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the Celebration Of Life at 3:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. Everyone is encouraged to continue the Celebration Of Life with dinner and drinks at Lindy’s Landing, 115 Park Street, Wauconda, from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. Dinner will be served from 6:00-7:00 pm. Lucy would have loved to see you all there to celebrate and hug each other close.

Lucy was born August 2, 1961, in McMinnville, Tennessee, and passed away October 17, 2024, with her loved ones by her side. 

Lucy was the beloved wife of Jerry Coteus; loving mother of Kelly (Kevin) Gerischer, Rylee (Thomas) Radtke, and Taylor Coteus; loving grandmother/Jaja of Turner and Payton Radtke; dear daughter of Evelyn (nee Seals) Mourlas; fond sister of Peter Mourlas. She lives on in the hearts of all of her treasured family. 

Lucy loved flowers, but her family would mostly appreciate donations to the American Lung Association in her name. 

Lucy was the most devoted mother and grandmother, and there are many other surrogate kids and grandkids that were lucky to be so fiercely loved by her. She lived for gardening, James Taylor music, dancing in the kitchen with her dish cloth, trips back home to Tennessee, and just about anything her grandkids ever did or said. An intensely strong and compassionate woman, her door (and heart) was always open for anyone who needed anything. She always said that instead of being sad when you think of her being gone, to please think of all the beautiful memories and smile. Her greatest gift was her love, and her family encourages everyone to Love Like Lucy forever in her honor.
