Magdalena was born November 30, 1926, in Yugoslavia, and passed away October 29, 2024, in Barrington.

Magdalena was the beloved wife of the late Georg; loving mother of the late Georg Horvath, Jr., Helene (Peter) Wenson, Sylvia (the late Steven) Hrbek and Ed (Cassandra) Horvath; loving grandmother of Erika, Christopher, Andrew, Rachel, Hannah and Katherine; loving great-grandmother of Sofia, Adam, Amelia and Nolan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Christof and Barbara Jauch; sister, Katharina Rinnhofer and brother, Franz Jauch.

Magdalena lived a happy and full life, enjoying her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born in Yugoslavia, survived the war and lived in Austria where she met her husband Georg. They had two children in Austria and then immigrated to Chicago in 1955, where they had two more children.

Magdalena and Georg were members of the American Aid Society of German Descendants for over 60 years. She found enjoyment in playing cards and fishing at their summer cottage in Wisconsin. She was an excellent baker and cook. Her grandchildren particularly loved her homemade chicken soup.

At the age of 80, Magdalena moved to the Saddlebrook Farm retirement community where she learned and ultimately loved to play bingo. She also spent her time knitting baby caps for the preemies born at Condell Hospital.

Magdalena is happy to now be reunited with Georg and we will all miss her very much.
