Manuel Marques

Visitation for Manuel Marques, 95, formerly of Chicago, Niles, Hollywood Beach, FL and Hoffman Estates, will be held from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  A funeral mass will said at 10:30 am on Friday at St. Francis de Sales Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  Entombment will take place at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.

He was born on August 11, 1928 in Guanajay, Cuba and passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, in Lake Zurich, IL.

Manuel loved reading, gardening, the ocean and traveling with wife Maria.

Manuel was the loving husband of the late Maria Antonia (nee Fernandez); father of Manny E. (Cynthia) and Maria “Marita” A. (James) Long; grandfather of Brittany (Dan) Souder, Christopher and Marisa Marques, Samantha (Andrew) McCue, James and Michael Long; great grandfather of Quinton; brother of Antonio, Rene, the late Jorge, Sergio and Carlos. In addition to grand animals Kira, Vivian & Seymour, Sadie & Maya, Layla & Josie, Alfred and Boots and many, many, many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
