Margaret A. Reed

Services for Margaret A. Reed (nee Condon) will be held Thursday, August 16, 2018 at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Dr., Palatine. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. Also, a luncheon will be served immediately following the services at the church. The Interment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Margaret passed away August 3, 2018 in Edgewood, New Mexico. She was born in Fort Collins, Colorado, in 1922, but soon moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she grew up and met and married her husband, Howard H. Reed (predeceased 2004). They were married 58 years.

Mrs. Reed earned a degree in Education from DePaul University, as well as a Masters from National College with an emphasis in Reading. She taught school for many years in Illinois, including several at Virginia Lake Elementary School in Palatine. After retiring from teaching, Margaret was employed as the New Accounts Manager for several years at Suburban National Bank in Palatine. Mr. and Mrs. Reed were members of St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, where Margaret was a member of the Golden Villanovans.

Margaret is survived by her 5 children, Richard Reed (Sue), Nancy Callahan, Sheila Reed, James Reed (Darcy) and Judith Dyess (Terry), seven grand-children, one great-grand-child and her niece, Anne Marie Eggleston.
