Margaret D. “Peggie” Campbell

A Memorial Visitation for Margaret Doris “Peggie” Campbell, 87, a resident of Palatine since 1980, will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 3:00pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 8:00pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  The Interment will be private. Peggie was born on July 5, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY and spent her early years growing up in Port Jefferson, NY and later spending her teen years Rockville Center on Long Island.  Peggie was the daughter of the late Gerald and Lillian (nee Lindstadt) Strickland and she passed away peacefully on Monday evening March 10, 2014 in Buffalo Grove.

Peggie served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1954.  While in the Air Force she met her husband Albert Campbell.  Albert served extensively with the Air Force which allowed them to live and travel throughout the world including time spent in England, Germany, Turkey and many states throughout America.  Following Albert’s retirement from the Air Force in 1979, Peggie and Albert moved to Palatine and Peggie became an active member of the Palatine Women’s Club.  Peggie also had a heart for working with and supporting individuals with special needs.

Peggie was the beloved wife of the late Albert Campbell; loving mother of Bruce W. (Donna) and the late Michael A. Campbell; cherished grandmother of Michael T., Kellie D. and Makenzie A. Campbell; dear sister of Gerald (Sue), Lanny (Kathy) Strickland and the late Stanley and late Ronald Strickland; fond aunt of Laura, Ellen, David, Kathy and Jonathon.
