Marguerite “Peg” Lightner

Visitation for Marguerite “Peg” Lightner, 68, of Wauconda formerly of Cedarburg, WI, will be on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 8:00 am until time of prayers, 9:15 am at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  Mass will be said 10:00 am Saturday at Transfiguration Church, 348 W. Mill Street, Wauconda.  Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.

She was born June 1, 1946 in Chicago and passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 in Barrington.

Peg was the beloved daughter of the late John and Dolores Lightner; sister of John, Chris (Larry) Cruse, Thomas, Tabeth (Joseph) Gomez, Barbara, David (Rita) and Patrick (Angela); aunt of Jason (Jane) and Sacha Cruse, Brian (Monica) Lightner, Isaiah and Natasha Gomaz and Jessica Lightner; great aunt of Violet Cruse and Max Cruse.

Peg, a gentle and compassionate friend to all, was a devoted teacher of countless children at Atwater Elementary School, Shorewood, WI for 36 years and retired in 2008.  She had a passion for teaching, reading and math and was known for her love for all children, and the child she managed to bring out in all of us.  She will be missed more than anyone can imagine, but her legacy continues to live on in the lives of all those she touched.  Peg Lightner is and always will be, unforgettable.
