Marie Holpuch

Funeral Services for Marie Holpuch (nee Blau), 98, of Palatine will be held privately.

Marie was born on February 23, 1925, in Chicago to Mathias and Frances (nee Litterst) Blau.  She passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Addolorata Villa in Wheeling.

She was raised in Chicago’s Avondale and Logan Square neighborhoods. After graduating from St. Alphonsus High School, she pursued a career as a secretary and administrative assistant. Her longest-term employer was Hammond Organ Co., where she was the secretary to the founder, Laurens Hammond, and the legal staff. After the passing of her first husband, Howard Dunlap, Marie married Richard Holpuch, whom she had met while working at Hammond Organ. They enjoyed 11 years of marriage in Palatine, IL. She was a parishioner at St. Theresa Parish in Palatine. Marie always enjoyed travel, gardening, and animals of all kinds, particularly dogs and birds.

She was a lifelong friend of the late Alice Pieske; loving stepmother of Robert (Nancy) Holpuch of Arlington Heights, Joan (Gary) Theroux of Norwalk Ct, and Raymond Holpuch of Palatine. She was the loving step-grandmother of James Holpuch, Amanda Holpuch, Jillian (Ryan) Iberle, Kelly (Louis) Decosmo, Elizabeth (Taylor) Spaeth, Mark Theroux, Richard Theroux, and Lianne Holpuch. She was the loving great grandmother of nine.
