Marilyn L. Haeger

March 21, 1934 — July 2, 2017

A Memorial Visitation for Marilyn L. Haeger (nee Benge), 83, of Palatine, formerly of Arlington Heights, will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass, 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Home for the Elderly, 80 W. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL 60067.  A Private family Inurnment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where she will rest with her beloved husband, William.

Marilyn was born March 21, 1934 in Chicago and she passed away July 2, 2017 at the St. Joseph Home.

She was a generous soul who shared her love of life and her talents with everyone.  Marilyn was fiercely dedicated to her family and put their needs before her own always.  Her friendly and fun spirit drew people to her and she was blessed with so many life-long friends.  She was the ultimate hostess, a great cook, and was known for her festive holiday gatherings.  Marilyn loved to crochet and was continuously creating something beautiful to give as a gift or as a donation to a charity.          

Beloved wife of the late William F. Haeger III; loving mother of Kimberly (Gerald) Mulcahy, Michael (LeJane) Haeger, Gary (Sandra) Haeger, Patricia (Richard) Fuentes, and William (Carin) Haeger; loving grandmother of Kathleen (Michael) Arellano, Erin (Thomas) Burns, Savannah Haeger, Carson Haeger, Joshua (Natalie) Haeger, Valerie (Christopher) Black, Amanda (Bo) Hunt, Emily Haeger, David Schmerler Jr., Eleanor (fiancé Alex Rich) Schmerler, and Jacqueline Fuentes; delighted great-grandmother of Zachary and Elizabeth Arellano, Silas Black, and Elton Haeger; dear daughter of the late John and Eleanor (nee Finkey) Benge; fond sister of the late Tom (the late Constance) Benge and beloved cousin of John Finkay; cherished sister-in-law of Lee and Phil Geoghegan, Jackie (the late Jim) Haeger and Ann Benge;  and proud aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Special “mother” and confidant to Terri (Paul) Schroeder and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Little Sisters of the Poor, C/O The St. Joseph Home for the Elderly.
