Marion V. Rizzo

Marion V. Rizzo, 92, of Lake Zurich, IL, did not want a wake or funeral.  The Interment will be private.

Born February 7, 1925 in White County, IL, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Mildred (nee Munsey) Rodgers.  She passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017.

Marion was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Rizzo and brother, Jesse Rodgers. She is survived by her daughters, Judi Warren (Bob) of Lake Zurich, IL and Jackie Emrick (Ken) of Greeley, CO; grandchildren, Lindsay (Bryan) Schweet, Heather (Dave)  Halverson, Juliet Warren & Emily Royer; and great-grandchildren, Jack, Thomas, Lucy, Nicholas, Isolde, Ragnar, Mia, McKenzie & Ella.  She is also survived by her sister, Maythel Krasel of Barrington, IL.  A special thank you to longtime family friend, Fred Branding.

She loved her family very much and was deeply loved by her family and all who knew her.  She was one of a kind and quite a character.  Though her family implored her to wear “sensible shoes”, she insisted on wearing her Birkenstocks along with an ankle bracelet through the age of 91.  She was a hipster before hipsters were cool.

In Marion’s memory, take time to laugh and have fun, be kind to one another and just enjoy life!
