Arlington Heights

Visitation for Marline M. Lewandowski, 84, of Arlington Heights, will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Thursday, family and friends will meet directly at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 200 N. Plum Grove Road, Palatine, where visitation will continue at 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. The Interment will be private at Concordia Cemetery, Chicago, IL.

Marline was born in Chicago on July 11, 1940, to Gilbert and Viola Munden. She passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Marline married right out of high school and began growing her family. With several life changes she continued to grow her family, eventually claiming eleven children as her own.

Marline was the loving mother of Donald (Mary) Prechodko, Darla Losik, Dale (Gretchen) Prechodko, Darren Prechodko, Paula (Chris) Moerschel, Dawn (Bob) Losik, Denise Scaccia, Penny Lewandowski-Noe (Paul); Donna (Scott) Smith-Sykes and Doreen (Larry) Winter; cherished grandmother of Otto, Ross, Anna, Dakota, Dylan, Donovan, Nick, Sam, Karis, Evan, Justin, Ryan, Angela, Joseph, Laura, Steven, Jake, Erin, Surina, Brendan, Daniel, Paul, Jeff, Karissa, Sheri and Justin. She was also blessed with 21 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. She was a beloved aunt to Marla and Jonathon and sister-in-law to LaDonna Munden.

Marline was preceded in death by her parents, dear brother Jon Munden, and daughter Debra (Phill) Janda.

Although Marline was a homemaker for many years, she eventually became a CNA. Anyone who knew her knew she was happiest holding babies, so she went on to pursue a career as a nanny. She helped raise several children she loved as if they were her own. Marline lived most of her life in Arlington Heights where she was a member of Cross and Crown Lutheran Church up until she moved to Church Creek, a senior living community. Her friendliness and leadership landed her with an “Ambassador” title. She took pride in helping new residents get acclimated to their new living arrangements.

We will forever miss this amazing woman, her faith, her strength, and her love. She will forever live in our hearts as she spends eternity with her Heavenly Father.
