Mary E. “Lib” Temme

Visitation for Mary E. “Lib” Temme, 78, of Kildeer, will be from 3:00 PM until the time of the Funeral Service, 7:30 PM on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  The Interment will be private.

Lib was born on October 10, 1938 in New Bern, NC to Nathaniel and Margaret Powell.  She passed away peacefully, quietly and with grace at Warren Barr in Lincolnshire on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

Lib attended East Carolina College where she met her future husband.  After graduating in 1962, she married James W. Temme.  From there they started their family.  While raising their children, Lib was very active in teaching and served as President for the Junior Women’s Club of Des Plaines.  Professionally she was a long time broker/owner of Century 21 Temme & Temme Inc. in Palatine and served on the board of directors for the MAP/MLS.  Lib was an avid golfer and had two hole-in-ones at Medinah Country Club, where she and James were long-time members.

Lib was a devoted wife & mother, a successful business woman, kind and generous to all she knew.  She loved music, was full of life; she will be missed.

Lib is survived by her beloved husband, James W. Temme; her loving children, Jason B. (Marcy) Temme, Jalane B. Temme, and Justin B. (Beth) Temme; dear grandchildren, Jenna Elizabeth and Blake William Temme; brother, James Stewart Powell and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Nathaniel Powell, Jr.
