Mary L. Heffernan

Funeral Services and Inurnment, next to her husband, for Mary L. Heffernan (nee Exley), 87, of Palatine, IL, will be at a private service held at the Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria, Ohio.

Mary was received into the arms of her Lord on Thursday April 12, 2018. She was born on September 25, 1930 in Franklin, PA to William and Grace (Neely) Exley.

Mary lived for over 60 years in Elyria, Ohio where her life centered around her family, being a loving & caring person, and living out her spiritual faith. She particularly enjoyed reading and playing cards.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Alliene, George and William; and her loving & devoted husband, Everett D. Heffernan. She was the loving mother of William (Cheryl) of Palatine, IL; Donald (Susan) of Fort Mill, SC; Michael (Marcia) of Grafton, OH; and Stephen (Jan) of South Jordan, UT. She was the loving grandmother of nine and the great-grandmother of sixteen.

The family extends a special thanks to the staffs of Palatine Senior Center & Journey Care – Palatine and her extended family at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for their love and care.
