A Memorial Service for MaryAnn Joan Sandberg, 77, will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church 33 S. Buesching Rd, Lake Zurich. A private Inurnment will be held in Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, in Niles.
MaryAnn was born on March 28, 1943 and peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021.
MaryAnn was a kind, gentle soul who loved her family and friends with all her heart! She lived a simple life as a devout Catholic, never complaining, always thinking of others. She was a generous person who would give you her last penny or just listen to your troubles. If it was in her power to do so, she would help without hesitation. MaryAnn was a loyal Chicago sports fan-the Chicago Sky and Cubs in the summer, and the Bears in the fall! As a member of the ASPCA and the Humane Society of the United States, MaryAnn was an avid animal lover who volunteered at animal shelters and doted on and cared for family pets whenever possible. In addition to her dedication to family and bettering the lives of animals, MaryAnn served her country as a naval reservist, an accomplishment of pride and honor. We are very fortunate to have been able to know and love her! She will be greatly missed by all!
MaryAnn is survived by her beloved sister Barbara Brown, niece Rebecca (Michael) Cooper, nephews Norman Rosseland and Erl (Kerin) Rosseland, great-niece Veronica, great-nephews Reid and Cade, and loving friend Artemia Moreno. She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Helen Sandberg.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Humane Society of the United States www.humanesociety.org , your local parish or Archdiocese of Chicago www.annualcatholicappeal.com.
