Matthew A. Gartner

Visitation for Matthew A. Gartner, 95, of Chicago, will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  Funeral Services will begin with prayers, 9:30AM on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, also at the funeral home proceeding to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, for a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM.  An Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Matthew was born in Kernei, Austria-Hungary the son of the late Anton and Theresa (nee Mueller) Gartner on June 4, 1920 and passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015.

Matthew was a WWII veteran of the United States Marines.

Beloved husband of the late Theresa M. (nee Holtmann) Gartner: loving father of Martin (Carol) Gartner, Thomas (Nadine) Gartner and the late Ann Schordje; cherished grandfather of Anthony Gartner, Jamie (Trevor) Christ, Stephanie, Scott and Ryan Gartner; great grandfather of McKinsey and Kylen Gartner; dear brother of Jim (Marilyn) Gartner, Anna (late Skip) Haen and preceded in death by brothers Andy, Tony and George Gartner.
