Michael D. Brill

Visitation for Michael Dennis Brill, of Long Grove, will be held Thursday, January 5, 2017 from, 4:00 to 7:30 pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 6th, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 47 Church St, Lake Zurich, IL, 60047.

Michael died on Sunday December 11, 2016, at the age of 62, in the sanctuary of his home.  His death marked the end of a 3-year journey with metastatic melanoma.  He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Momsen Brill, his sons, Rafa and Brandon, his son Shay (Terry) and their children (Steven, Kara, and Ty), and his mother, Lorene M. Brill of Elgin. He was preceded in death by his father, Meryl G. Brill.

Michael was born on March 12, 1954, in Aurora, IL.  He lived on his parents’ dairy farm, graduated from Hampshire High School in 1972, studied at the University of Illinois, Urbana.  He was CFO of Architex International in Northbrook, where he worked for over 30 years.

Mike deeply loved his family and their cherished four-legged friends.  He had unending interest, affection, and respect for the people in his life and the earth they shared.  He was bright, subtle, kind and fun. Mike’s love for nature drove him to plant, cultivate and nourish.  We will miss his wonder, wit, integrity and compassion.
