Michael Joseph Cummings

Memorial visitation for Michael (Mike) Joseph Cummings, 82, of Lake Villa, formerly of Lake Zurich will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 5:00 p.m. Held at Heritage Church, 255 N. Quentin Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Interment private.

Mike was born November 1, 1935 in Highland Park, Illinois and he peacefully entered heaven on July 27, 2018 in Barrington, Illinois, surrounded by his girls.

Mike is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janet Marie (nee MacKay) Cummings, Mike was the loving father of four children, Kathleen (Ken) Howell, Mark (Michelle) Cummings, Sharon Kling, and Terri Cummings. The loving grandfather of six grandchildren, Julie (Pat) Schopper, Jamie (Greg) Cline, Sandy Allabastro, and Jacob, Matthew & Jessie Kling. Mike also celebrated having six great-grandchildren, Tallie and Jaden Watson, Connor Allabastro, Kourtney, Caleb and Amelia Cline.

Mike is preceded in death by his father and mother, Melvin and Allene (nee Smith) Cummings; Sheila McKinney and Tim Cummings, and survived by his younger brother Barry Cummings.

Mike loved Jesus, golfing with his buddies, coffee and the Daily Herald and was an avid Chicago sports fan loving the Cubs and the Bears. Mike spent more than five years working at Walmart and enjoyed spending time talking with his customers who then became friends, “everyone” knew Mike.
