Michael W. Hader

Visitation for Michael W. Hader, 78, of Palatine, will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service, 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  The Interment will be private.

Michael was born in Allentown, PA to Michael and Catherine Hader and passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in Arlington Heights.  

Michael was married to Cynthia Hader, they were united in marriage on January 8, 1994.  He is also survived, his daughter, Suzanne (Michael Johns) Hader; brother, Robert (Denise) Hader, their daughter, Rachel; Suzanne’s mother, Rozann Shackleton; nephew, Brad (Lisa) Anderson, their children, Alice & Will; nephew, Scott Anderson; and sister-in-law, Deonne Erbland.

Mike was 1960 graduate of Penn State, where he was on the baseball team that went to the college world series in 1957 and 1959.  He graduated with a degree in chemical engineering.  Professionally, Mike worked for Abbott Laboratories out of Australia.  With Abbott, he built plants worldwide.  From there, Mike, went to work for Walgreens and in 1989 he purchased their manufacturing plants.  They were sold to Leiner Health Products in 1994 where he was in charge of the domestic and international plants.  The final plant that he built was in Suzhou, China.
