Mildred M. Culbertson

Visitation for Mildred M. Culbertson, of Mt. Prospect, will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 3:00 pm until the time of the Funeral Service, 7:00 pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  The Entombment Service will be held, 11:00 am on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the chapel in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.

Mildred was born on May 15, 1924 in Freelandville, IN the daughter of Jonas and Iva Kirchoff and died on Friday, January 6, 2017.

She was an RN, graduating from the Deaconess Hospital Nursing Program in Evansville, IN where she continued working.  In 1947 she married John Culbertson of Evansville, IN later moving to the Chicago area.  She worked very proudly for Dr.’s Buckingham & Ferrer in Park Ridge for almost 30 years.  She also was an avid gardener, her Peonies being her pride and joy.

Mildred was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights and had recently resided at Central Baptist Village in Norridge where she discovered a passion for exercise and bingo.  She loved attending the chapel services there as well.

Survivors include her daughter Janet (Michael) Herron; grandson Carrick (fiancé Amber) Herron; sister Evelyn Land and son-in-law Daniel Olson.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband John M.; her parents; her daughter Judy Olson and brother Eugene Kirchoff.
