Minerva Muniz

The Memorial Visitation for Minerva “Minnie” Muniz, 80, of Lake Zurich, will be from 3:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Service, 7:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Rd, Lake Zurich. The Interment will be private.

Minnie was born in Raymondville, Texas on March 1, 1939 to Ignacio and Francisca Solis Mendez. She passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019.

Minnie was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced her role as Grandma and Nana. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. In 1967, Minnie moved to Lake Zurich with her husband, Oscar. She was a loyal and passionate Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Cubs fan.

Minnie was the beloved wife of Oscar Muniz for almost 62 years. She is also survived by her children, Melinda (Lyle) Perry, and Oscar (Sharon) Muniz, Jr.; her grandchildren, Rachel, Abel, Adrian, Jacob, Ethan, and Eva; great-grandchildren, Anabella, Aiden, and Lyla; her brother, Ignacio (Clara) Mendez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Elena Longoria, Anita Navejar, Tina Ambriz, and Maria Cisneros.
