Nancy A. Busch

Visitation for Nancy Ann Busch, 87, will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine. The Funeral Mass will be said at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 25, 2024, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 455 N. Benton St, Palatine. The Interment will be private at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Nancy Ann (Helfvogt) Busch passed away peacefully in her home on October 18, 2024. She was born on September 22, 1937, to the late Harry and Beatrice (Trimble) Helfvogt. Nancy grew up in Barrington and then moved to Inverness in her teens where she graduated from Palatine High School. During her 4 years at Palatine High, she was active in school activities including cheerleading. Because of her love of horses, she participated in local horse shows where she placed and won ribbons. She remained a long-term resident of Palatine up until recent years.

Nancy met John E. Busch Jr. after high school and dated until they married on September 5, 1959. They remained married for 58.5 years. She loved dressing up and going dancing, taking vacations (especially to Florida), and working in her beautiful gardens. She was also an avid golfer who played in a weekly league and any time she could get out on a course. She was also an artist who created beautiful paintings.

Once her children went to school Nancy was asked to work at the family business doing accounting work. She was dedicated to her job and in aiding to make the business successful. She took pride in her job and took pride in the business.

She is preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life John E. Busch Jr, her parents, Harry and Beatrice (Trimble) Helfvogt; her siblings, Jean, Grace, Mary, and Robert.

She is survived by her four children, Elizabeth (Mike) Melle, Monica Fruhauf, Julia Bazzoni, and John Busch III (Cynthia). Eleven grandchildren, Michael III, Daniel, James Jr., Justin, Meredith, Joshua (Jacey), Malorie, Katie, Amy, Lindsey, and John Busch IV; and great grandchildren, Callahan and Jameson.
