A Memorial Visitation will be held for Nancy M. Stephens, 84, a 29 year resident of Lake Zurich, on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 4:00PM until the time of the O.E.S. Service and Memorial Service, 7:00PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. The Interment will be private.
Nancy was born on March 11, 1931 in Phillipsburg, NJ the daughter of the late Carl and Marion (nee Kyle) Crouse and passed away peacefully Monday, July 20, 2015.
Nancy will be remembered as having a loving and caring heart for all she met. She was a nurse, heart and soul. Nancy loved the communities in which she lived and was always actively involved in many ways. Nancy and her late husband Bruce founded and were the driving force behind the Spirit of ’76 Marching Unit of the Northwest Suburban Shrine Club and she was also a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mayflower Chapter #555 of Wauconda. Nancy was an active volunteer with the Lake Zurich Senior Center, where she found a great deal of camaraderie and gratification. She was an active and passionate member of the Lake Zurich Garden Club. The Clock Garden at the corner of Main and Old Rand was a favorite project that reflects her heart and spirit.
Beloved wife of 61 years of the late Bruce K. Stephens who passed away on November 1, 2014; loving mother of Ann (John) Wonak, Terrie (Gary) Birginal and David (Anita) Stephens; cherished grandmother of Adam (Emily) and Paul Wonak, Rev. Keith (Rebecca) Birginal, Kimberly (Rev. David) Rende, Michael and Jason Stephens; great grandmother of Quinn and Jenna Rende; dear sister of Glenn (Helen) and Carl (Jenny) Crouse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Nancy, would be appreciated for JourneyCare Hospice, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL 60010 or to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2211 N. Oak Park Avenue, Chicago, IL 60707.
