Neil M. Sobel

A Memorial Visitation for Neil M. Sobel, 81, of Palatine, will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 am on February 25, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 200 N. Plum Grove Road, Palatine. The Interment will be private.

He was born on June 25, 1941 in Chicago, IL and passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.

Neil was a music teacher for 38 years and ran Happy Trails Day Camp with his family for 35 years. Neil was active at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palatine. He sang and often directed the choir and served as an Elder at the church. Neil also sang with a local group called Rejoice. In Neil’s years of retirement, he was an avid golfer.

Neil is survived by his wife, Linda Sobel; children, Lisa (Eric) Colson, Jen (Michael) Riddle, David (Jennifer) Sobel. Lastly, Neil is survived by his grandchildren, Madeline, Hannah, Autumn, Katlyn, Ashlyn, Allison, Benjamin, and Joshua.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palatine and Second City Canine Rescue in Palatine.
