Nell R. Green

Funeral Services for Nell R. Green, 87, of Palatine, will be privately held at a later date in North Carolina.

Nell was born on March 30, 1936, to Paul James and Dovie Jane Rogers in Rosman, North Carolina. She transitioned at home with her family present, on May 26, 2023.

Nell grew up in Brevard, North Carolina. She had 7 older siblings and 4 younger siblings. Nell loved her family and was so proud of each of them.

Nell graduated from Brevard High School and attended Brevard College. She specialized in accounting. Nell then transferred to Illinois for work in the early 80s and decided to continue growing her family here.

Nell was adventurous and traveled to many places with her family and cherished friends. She enjoyed many activities throughout her life, including golf, bowling and poker. Nell was strong, independent, intelligent, beautiful, loving and kind. She created an incredible life for herself as she was courageous and filled with determination. Nell will be greatly missed by all her loved ones.

Nell is the loving Mother of Catherine (Steven) Strunk, and Constance Green; Adoring Grandmother of Jennifer (Ricardo) Catlin-Garcia, Christine (Robert) Betts, Tyler Strunk, Karlton Lee Jr., and Sara Strunk; Special Great-Grandmother of Angelina Noto, Brenden Jordan, Izaiah Garcia, Annabell Garcia, Izmael Garcia, and Sadie Strunk; Dear Sister of Laura Jane (James) Davenport, Marilyn (Harold) Whitmire, James Doug (Sandi) Rogers and Betty (John) O’Toole.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Dovie Jane and Paul Rogers and siblings, Doyle Rogers, Lillian Rogers, Myrtle Rogers, Reba Rogers, Edna Rogers, Margaret Rogers, and Paul Rogers.
