Nick Brady

November 21, 1946 — November 11, 2017

A Visitation for James Nicholas “Nick” Brady, 70, of Hawthorn Woods, will be held from 10:00 am until a Celebration Of Life Service, 1:00 pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, on Saturday, November 18, 2017.

Nick died peacefully on November 11, 2017.

Nick is survived by his wife of 41 years, Shari, and their three loving children: son Cameron Brady (wife Elizabeth, daughter Gianna), and daughters Jessica Brady (husband Alistair Reader) and Andrea Brady.

Nick was a proud Chicagoan who also held on to his roots as a Kentucky native.  Born in Covington, KY, on November 21, 1946, Nick put himself through college and earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky in 1969.  Nick went on to build a successful career as a print salesman over the next five decades, spending the last nine years of his professional life at Specialty Print Communications in Niles, IL.  Nick loved his colleagues and his customers, who will miss him dearly.

Tall and boisterous, Nick was a great conversationalist whose good humor and curiosity were beloved by all who knew him.  He passed on to his children a passion for work, a love of Motown music, and an Irish wit.  Nick’s proud family celebrates the life of the man they deeply loved, who has now gone on his own terms to his Old Kentucky Home:

Weep no more my lady.

Oh! Weep no more today!

We will sing one song

For my old Kentucky home

For the old Kentucky home, far away.

-“My Old Kentucky Home”
