Visitation for Norma Jane Vignola, 80, a resident of Mt. Prospect and former longtime resident of Inverness, will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Private family interment services will be held at Randhill Park Cemetery.
Norma was born at home in Palatine on October 17, 1934 the daughter of the late Albert and Elenora (nee Deeke) Hapke and passed away peacefully on March 18th, surrounded by her family.
Beloved wife of John Vignola and the late Carl M. Teutsch, Jr.; loving mother of Lorii (Jack Olichwier) Hampton and Carl M. Teutsch; cherished grandmother of Taryn and Teague Hampton; dear sister of Herbert Hapke and Milton (Phyllis) Hapke; also survived by many nieces and nephews; preceded in death by her beloved son, Scott Teutsch, and two sisters and one brother.
As a voracious reader her entire life, Norma was adamant about education and was proud to have received her college degree at the age of 40. She was an accomplished interior designer, world traveler, an avid golfer, creative gardener and cook, and enormous dog lover, particularly to her Westies. Norma will always be remembered for the grace, poise and courage she exhibited throughout her life and her devoted love of her husband and her children.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated, in memory of Norma, for St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
