Orville J. Methling Jr.

A Memorial Visitation for Orville J. “OJ” Methling Jr., 79, of Palatine for many years, will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.  The Interment will be private.

OJ was born July 5, 1943 in Chicago, and he passed away July 24, 2022 in Arlington Heights.

OJ was the beloved partner of Karen J. Schumacher; loving father of Jackie Methling and Scott Methling; dear son of the late Orville Sr. and Lillian (Nee Franz) Methling: fond brother of  Kevin (Debra) Methling and the late Sharon Methling.

OJ was an U.S. Army Veteran having served during Vietnam War.  He was a senior land leasing agent for the CNW Railroad Transportation Company.  When he retired from the railroad he started “OJ’s Odd Jobs” and then he worked for the Palatine Township.  His favorite pastimes were Harley Davidson Motorcycle trips throughout the Midwest and fishing.  He was a devoted and trusted friend and enjoyed hanging out at the Palatine McDonalds and Spunky Dunkers Donuts.
