Visitation for Patricia J. Miller, 82, of Schaumburg, will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 10:00am until 2:00pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The Interment will be held privately, at a later date.
Pat passed away on August 19, 2023, after a brief and unexpected battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.
Patricia (Pat) was born on November 30, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio. The family later moved to Evanston, Illinois where she attended Evanston High School. She went on to attend Stephens College where she obtained an Associate Degree in Arts. She met Robert (Bob), and they were married on September 7, 1968. They raised two children in Skokie, Illinois.
Pat was very involved in the lives of both her kids. She never missed a concert, a game or any extracurricular activity. She was also very involved in the PTA where she met some of her closest friends who eventually referred to themselves at the “Oldies but Goodies.” Pat loved her kids and loved her grandkids even more. She attended as many of their concerts, games and activities as she could. She was always their #1 fan.
Pat was an avid sports fan too. She loved the Cubs, the Bears and the Bulls and wanted everything and anything to do with Michael Jordan. She even brought a radio to one of her kid’s high school graduations so she could listen to the Bulls championship game, and owned every Bulls championship T-shirt that was printed. She loved to play bridge with her friends, and she loved to read books.
Patricia is survived by her children, David (Susan) Miller and Karen (Greg) Dersnah and grandchildren, Kaitlyn, William, Grant and Addyson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Miller; parents, John and Dorthea Gallagher and stepfather, William Branick.
In Lieu of flowers, donations will be appreciated to The American Cancer Society or ASPCA.
