Patsy A. Bruns

A Celebration Of Life for Patsy Ann “Pat” Bruns (nee Coffman), 75, of Carpentersville since 1996, will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Pat was born July 11, 1948, in Germany, and passed away with dignity and courage September 11, 2023, in Arlington Heights from Pancreatic Cancer.  She lost the battle of life on earth, but not the battle for eternal life in heaven.

Pat was the beloved wife of Jack for 27 years; fond sister of Jeanne (Ron) VanderRoest, Sanger, TX and Rosemary Coffman, Golden, CO; dear daughter of Robert and Anna (nee Ring) Coffman; loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Pat graduated from Irvin High School, El Paso, Texas, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Texas at El Paso.  She was the former Customer Service Manager and Materials Manager for Sealed Air Corporation, and a former teacher at Ysleta High School in El Paso, Texas.

Pat loved reading; it was her passion.  Words fueled her soul and mind, and she could easily lose herself in the pages of each book.  She loved animals.  When she could no longer have her own, she would donate to the local animal shelter and go there to pet the cats.  She had a “green thumb” and she would nurture plants to bloom and flourish.  She also loved to collect Vera Bradley Purses and Longaberger Baskets.

Most of all, she loved Jack.  They were each other’s emotional support.  They had companionship and leaned on each other.
