Visitation for Paul R. Mederich, 81, of Hoffman Estates, will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 3:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The Visitation will be live streamed at this link https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/67431. A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:30a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 Palatine Road, Inverness.  A video stream of the Funeral Mass may be accessed on Holy Family’s website at: www.holyfamilyparish.org. (Scroll down and click on the red rectangle “Funerals & Weddings Stream”) The Interment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Des Plaines.

Paul was born on February 24, 1940. He passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (nee Hennessy). He is also survived by his five children, Michael (Alicia) Mederich, Tim Mederich, Carrie Mederich, Amy (Anthony) Spizzirri, and Andrew (Tracey) Mederich; stepchildren, Jennifer (James) Jubenville, Gretchen (Scott) Trowbridge, and Maureen (Adam) Morrison; ten grandchildren, Skyler (Marisa), Caleb and Sabrina Mederich, Jordan and Stefan Mederich, Joseph, Caden, and Jackson Spizzirri, and Melaine and Scarlett Mederich.  Paul was also the proud great grandfather of Willow and Nova Mederich.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jaime Mederich and parents, Paul and Marie Mederich.

Paul was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired as the Chief Financial Officer of Crown Construction Associates Inc, was a baptism minister for Holy Family Catholic Church, and an avid White Sox fan. He was a devoted husband and father, and a great fan of his grandchildren’s activities. He was proud of all their accomplishments and will be greatly missed by his entire family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Paul’s memory, to Catholic Charities or the Wounded Warrior Project.
