Edwin was born December 18, 1964 in Syracuse, New York; and passed away, Saturday, October 21, 2017 in Park Ridge, Illinois.

Edwin was the beloved husband of Kimberly L. Bennett Taylor for 29 years; loving father of Edwin Eugene Taylor IV and Janelle “Ellis” Taylor; son of Edwin E. Taylor II and Donna Lee Guldenschuh Taylor, and brother of David Arthur Taylor.

Edwin was predeceased by his grandparents, Edwin E Taylor and Bertha Johnson, and Arthur Guldenschuh and Violet Bryant.

Ed attended high school in New London, Iowa, and was very active in drama, music, swing choir, swim team, and marching band.  He received the Most Outstanding Male Vocal Musician in High School.  He joined the U.S. Army where he served 2 years and won a national award for his art work.  He also served in the Iowa Army National Guard full-time.  Ed graduated with a Bachelors at Lincoln Christian University, followed his passion for music and the way of Jesus, and served as the Worship and Discipleship Minister at Washington Christian Church in Washington, Illinois, until he felt led to church planting in the Chicago area.  In October of 2013, Quest Church began meeting at the Metropolis in Arlington Heights.  Ed loved preaching and leading worship, and was involved in everything from homeless ministries, to leading worship at the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, to serving on the Chamber of Commerce.

Ed enjoyed music and movies, and was known for using both in sermon references. Ed cared deeply about people, and shared his kindness and generosity with everyone who met him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to places that Ed was passionate about: Quest Church or Q Place, or gifts can be sent to the family.
