Rev. Mark A. Nordman

The Visitation for Rev. Mark A. Nordman, 60, of Cary, IL will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021, from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Visitation will continue Friday, November 5, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 200 N. Plum Grove Road, Palatine, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.  The Interment will follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary, IL. All are welcome to a Luncheon at 12:30 PM at Cary Country Club, 2400 Grove Lane, Cary, IL.

Rev. Nordman was born on February 19, 1961, in Elmhurst, IL to Ronald and Marga Nordman.  He attended Timothy Christian High School in Elmhurst and graduated in 1979.  He attended Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska and met his future wife, Diane (nee Happel) there.  They graduated in 1983 and were married in 1985.  After graduating Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 1987, Pastor Nordman served congregations in Litchfield, IL (vicarage), Pipestone, MN, Milford (Woodworth), IL, Rochelle, IL, Barrington, IL, and most recently in Blue Island, IL, and Chicago, IL.  The Lord unexpectedly called him home on Saturday, October 30, 2021. He will be most remembered for his compassion, personability, and love for Jesus. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and pastor who will be missed by all those who knew him.

Mark is survived by his wife, Diane Nordman; father, Ronald Nordman. The Lord blessed the Nordmans with four children, Sarah, Matthew (Jennifer), Joshua, and David (Tienna); grandchildren, Logan and Harper; siblings, Michael (Hazel) and Ronald (Fontaine); and numerous nieces, nephews, and brothers- and sisters-in-law.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Marga (nee Wangerin) Nordman.
