Richard was born on September 2, 1940 to the late Stanley and Fern Nork. He passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023. He was also preceded in death by his younger sister Norma Persful.
Richard graduated from Foreman High School, Chicago in 1960 and enlisted in the army three years later. He honorably served his country for the next six years in the 78th Infantry security agency, special operations group, in electronic warfare equipment repair. He received an electronics associates degree from the University of Maryland while in the Army. He also earned the good conduct medal, sharp shooter, and occupation of Berlin awards. Shortly thereafter, Richard became found by the love of his life, Sue Ann. Richard continued to work at United Airlines as a radio and electronics mechanic for over 35 years while loving her and their two children. Between love and work, Richard enjoyed time with cooking, woodworking, metal working, gardening, fishing, painting, and repairing the many things broken by his children.
Richard was the beloved husband of the late, Sue Ann Nork for almost 30 years; loving father of Martin (Ex Jenn) Nork, Jennifer (Jared) Cooley: dear grandpa of Dylan Nork, Hunter Nork, Darren Cooley, Tiffany Cooley, Donovan Cooley and Brittany Cooley.

Visitation for Richard Ronald Nork, 83, of Palatine, will be on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 3:00 PM- 8:00 PM at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine IL. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Acacia Park Cemetery, Norridge, IL.
