Rita Dow

A memorial visitation for Rita Dow, 92, of Palatine, will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 9:00am until 11:30am at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Services, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. A Mass will be said at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Dr. Palatine. Inurnment will be held privately at a later date.

Rita had a long fulfilling life. She was a devoted mother and grandmother; her grandchildren were her life. What she loved most was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and her hobbies included knitting for her family, friends, and her church. She was a resident of Palatine for 55 years. In her younger days, Rita was always the first one on the dance floor doing the polka and jitterbug.

Rita is survived by her children Robert Dow Jr., Barb (Darryl) Allen and Lisa (Glen) Jensen; cherished Granna/Nana to grandchildren Nathan Allen, Matt and Mike Dow, and Leah and Camille Jensen.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert Dow Sr.; brothers Art and Rino Capriotti and sister Rina Sajdak and her beloved dog, Max.

In Lieu of flowers donations are appreciated in Rita’s memory to The American Cancer Society.
