Rita T. Niefanger

Visitation for Rita T. Niefanger (nee Hupf), 77, of Hawthorn Woods, will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  Prayers will be said on Thursday also at the funeral home, 9:30 am, proceeding to St. Francis de Sales Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, for a Mass at 10:00 am. An Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.

Rita was born on August 11, 1940 in Germany, and she passed away peacefully at home with her family by her bedside on April 1, 2018 in Hawthorn Woods.  She worked at the Foglia YMCA as a greeter for 17 years.

Rita was the beloved wife of the late Walter K; loving mother of Gabriele (James) Banaszak and Christine (James) Dorshorst; grandmother of Lauren and Christopher Banaszak and Olivia Dorshorst; dear daughter of the late Johann and Maria Hupf; sister of Ria, Franz and Imelda.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Foglia YMCA, 1025 N. Old McHenry Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047 or the American Cancer Society, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60601.
