Rita M. Thomas

Visitation for Rita M. Thomas, 88, of Grayslake, will be from 9:30 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at St. Francis de Sales Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. The Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.

Rita (Bart) Thomas was born May 10th, 1936, to Victor and Rose (LeFevre) Bart. She graduated Mundelein College. She married the love of her life, Andrew Thomas on May 18th of 1963. They resided in Lake Zurich, Illinois for almost their entire 55-year marriage. Rita was a stay-at-home Mom who cared not only for her own children but many others over the years, which allowed her the opportunity to always be home for her children. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. Rita enjoyed many activities including, attending daily mass, volunteering at the Sparrow's Nest, sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her extended family, especially the family Thanksgiving celebrations.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Thomas and her mother and father, Victor and Rose Bart and son, Danny Thomas.

Rita is survived by many that loved her dearly, including her children, Victoria (Dan) Prather, Julia Thomas, Lisa (Andrew) Kutschera and Tom (Kate) Thomas; her grandchildren, Jason, Nathan (Lindsey), Jarrett, Colin, Meredith (Austin), Spencer, Will, Ben, Emma, Noah, Olivia, and Austin; and her Great Grandchildren, Aubrey, Archie, Penny and Sammy.
