Robert E. Knigge

Visitation for Robert Earl Knigge, of Lake Barrington, formerly of Palatine for over 50 years, will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 200 N. Plum Grove Road, Palatine, IL 60067.  The interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.

Robert was born March 29, 1930 in Ela Township and passed away July 11, 2020 in Lake Barrington.

Robert was the beloved husband of Audrey M Knigge (nee Meyer); loving father of the late James Knigge, the late Donald (Cindy) Knigge, Cheryl (the late Daniel) White, Steven (Marsha) Knigge; loving grandfather of Zach (Ejaye) Gilbert, Alyssum (Luke) Tomberlin, Iris Knigge and Sarah White; loving great-grandfather of Zander Gilbert, Caiden Gilbert, Anisa Gilbert, Jade Tomberlin, Cedar Tomberlin and Scarlet Tomberlin; dear son of the late Louis and Elsa (Heise) Knigge; fond brother of the late Willard Knigge, Leona Krause, Lillian Zimmerman, Dolores Miethke and Jennet Simonini.

Robert was a carpenter and loved golfing and bowling.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be appreciated to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Maintenance Fund, 200 N. Plum Grove Road, Palatine, IL 60067.
