Robert J. Abbott

Visitation for Robert (Bob) J. Abbott, 65, of Hawthorn Woods, IL, will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, IL.  Prayers will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the funeral home and proceed to St. Francis de Sales Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, IL.  The Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Bob was born on November 23, 1956 to William and Shirley Abbott in Sheridan, WY. While growing up in St. Louis with his family, he became an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. After graduating from University of Missouri, he accepted a position in Chicago where he met his loving wife Donna in 1981. Bob worked as a Chemical Engineer for over 40 years. He was a gregarious, outgoing person who had a great sense of humor. He was a proud family man and enjoyed coaching all of his children’s sports teams. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2022 due to health complications.

Bob was the beloved husband of Donna for 40 years; loving father of Brian Abbott, Kevin (Talia Renna) Abbott, Hayley (Daniel) Martin; dear grandfather of Waylon, Georgia, and Josephine.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley. Bob is also survived by his father, William and siblings, James, Thomas (Jane), Daniel (Maureen), Elizabeth, and Kathleen.
