Robert P. Hislop

Visitation for Robert “Bob” P. Hislop, 75, of North Barrington, will be held from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Rd., Lake Zurich. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00a.m., on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at St. Francis de Sales Church, 33 S. Buesching Rd., Lake Zurich.

Bob was born on November 27, 1938 in St. Paul, Minn. He died peacefully at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington on September 27, 2014, with his family at his side.

He received a B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of St. Thomas in 1962, and worked in chemical product sales for more than 40 years at 3M, Cargill and McWhorter Technologies, where he was vice president. He loved golfing, reading, volunteering at the St. Francis food pantry, and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marijean (nee Whelan); his children, Sheryl (Brian) Cash, Jeffrey (Marianne) Hislop; and Jennifer (Gerry) Wondrasek; his grandchildren, Ben, Katie, Laura, Tommy, Ellie, Michael, Paige and Will; and his sister, Jacquie Buhl.
