Visitation for Robert J. Poole, 81, of Arlington Heights, will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 8:30 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights IL, 60004. A private Interment will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
Robert passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 in Buffalo Grove. He was born on March 31, 1940 in Chicago, IL to the late Veronica (Phelan) and Willim Poole.
Bob was raised in Oak Park where he attended Ascension Grammar School and Fenwick High School. He also spent a semester at Palmer Chiropractic College. For the first half of his adult life he worked in the produce industry as both an employee and a proprietor. Afterward, he worked at Judge and Dolph Liquor warehouse until he retired in 2015. He was a proud member of both the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and the Liquor & Allied Workers’ Union Local 3.
At age 68, Bob was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. In spite of that, he continued to work for another 7 years.
Bob enjoyed a variety of music including Big Band, Jazz and Opera. Bob loved spending time with his family, his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his many siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was an avid sports fan, he loved getting to share his enthusiasm for all Chicago teams with his family and friends. You could always find Bob outside playing all sorts of sports with his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his loving wife JoAnn (nee Tomaselli) of 61 years. His children Liz (Tim) Viken, Grace (Rich) Kuebler, Gerri, and Bobby. Grandchildren Richie (Alison) Kuebler, Dan (Ashley) Viken, Frankie (Kristin) Kuebler, Anthony Kuebler, Elizabeth Viken, and Mary Kuebler. Great-grandchildren Keigan, Abbey, Charlie, Travis, James, Will, Joshua, and Claire. His siblings Peg (late Bruno) Franco, Bill (Karen), John, Jeanne Garnello, and Tom.
