Robert W. Deitmer

Visitation for Robert W. Deitmer, 94, of Schaumburg, formerly of Palatine, will be held Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service, 4:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.  The Interment will be private.

Robert was born August 10, 1923 in Chicago, and passed away unexpectedly, November 15, 2017 in Arlington Heights.

Robert was the beloved husband of the late Bernice E. (nee Krueger) Deitmer; loving father of Diane (Richard) Barrett, Debra (Fernando) Cadena and Donna (John) Owensby; loving grandfather  Emily Barrett, Kenna Owensby and Jessi Owensby; dear son of the late Carl and Bernice (nee Schoelzel) Deitmer; fond brother of Ruth (Gene) Wagner.

Robert was an Air Force Veteran, having served during WWII.  He loved his family, friends and his country.  He was known for his positive attitude with a big smile and a song on his lips!  You just couldn’t help but love this wonderful caring soul.  Everyone that met him, loved him!!!  He is now happy with the love of his life, Bernice, in heaven.  The stars are certainly shining much brighter in heaven now.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be appreciated to the Senior Care Volunteer Network, 360 Memorial Drive, Suite 140, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
