Rose Kriecha, (nee Zdeblick), 90, formally of Lake Zurich, IL and Peoria, AZ passed away Sunday at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington. Rose was born February 16, 1923 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Anna Zdeblick.
The Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. until time of Funeral Mass at 2:30 P.M. at St. Francis de SalesChurch, 33 S. Buesching Rd, LakeZurich. An Interment will be held at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery, Avondale, AZ.
Loving mother of: Diana Renee (Ralph) Haseman , Joyce Ann (Dennis) Ingles, Jim (Doretta), June Rose (Larry) Lingle, Bridget (Scott) Hicks. Dear Grandmother of 14 and Great-Grandmother of 20. Fond sister to: Bob Zdeblick, Jennie Denholm, Lolly Caraher.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Frank Kriecha, Sr., who she married on October 11, 1941 in Chicago.
Rose previously worked as a Pie Lady at Bell’s Apple Orchard making apple slices. She was well known for her baking. While living in Arizona, Rose was the Past President of VFW Auxiliary in Peoria. Also, she was heavily involved in crocheting and won numerous awards at the Arizona State Fair. She was also well known for her baking. While on a trip to Israel, Rose received a Mother Theresa Award for her constant care and attention to the children.
