The Visitation for Rudolph “Rudy” Starai, 87, of Arlington Heights, also known as Charlie to his family, will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 3:00PM to 8:00PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Services will begin with prayers at 9:30AM on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the funeral home proceeding to St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine, for the Funeral Mass at 10:00AM.  An Interment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles.

Rudy was born on January 26, 1927 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Frank and Emma (nee Havelka) Starai.  Rudy grew up in the Mopetown area of Chicago prior to moving to the suburbs in the early 1960’s.  He passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at his home in Arlington Heights.

Rudy was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Japan during WWII.

Beloved husband of the late Carol (nee Koperny) Starai; loving father of James (Kimberly), Thomas (Sherry) and John Starai and Jennifer (Erwin) van Boven; cherished grandfather of Jason and Matthew Starai, Audrey and Francine van Boven;
