Russell Skarda

      A Funeral Mass for Russell Skarda, 51, of Hoffman Estates since 1990, will begin Friday, August 9, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 Palatine Road, Inverness.  An interment will follow at St. Michael the ArchangelCemetery, Palatine.  Father Terence M. Keehan will officiate.

Visitation will be held Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.

Russell was born on February 22, 1962 in Berwyn, and he passed away suddenly, Friday, August 2, 2013 at his home.

Russell worked for the Arlington Heights Park District since 1986.  He was a “die-hard” Chicago Blackhawks fan and an avid NASCAR follower.  Russell was a great guy!  He never had a bad word for anyone, and would always be willing to help someone.

Survivors include his mother, Eleanor L. (nee Langer) Skarda, sister, Diane M. Hartman; nieces, Brittany and Sheridan Hartman; and his long time companion, Barbara Stelk.

Russell was preceded in death by his father, Earl J. Skarda.
