Sam R. Malambri

A Memorial Visitation for Sam Roger Malambri, 80, of Inverness, will be held at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine, on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 12noon until the time of Memorial Service at 3:00PM.

Sam is the beloved husband of Joan Malambri (nee White), loving father of Joe, Steve (Amy Kurland), Julie, and Dean; dear brother of Francis Malambri; grandfather of Lucas and Maclane Malambri.  Born January 8, 1934 in Chicago, Sam graduated from Austin High School in Chicago and graduated from DePaul University in 1959, after being a member of the 5th Army Band.  He taught instrumental music in District 15 for 31 years as director of bands at Walter Sundling Junior High.  As a professional musician, Mr. Malambri has played with many of the great bands of the era, including those of Frankie Masters, Jimmy Dorsey, and Tex Beneke, to name just a few.  Sam passed away January 22, 2014.  In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated for the Charcot Marie Tooth Association, P.O.
