Sammie L. Koryta

Visitation for Sammie L. Koryta (nee Sears), 81, of Palatine, will be on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Memorial Services will take place Wednesday, March 30, 2016, 10:30 AM also at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home.  The Interment will be private.

Sammie passed away peacefully on March 25, 2016.  Born September 6, 1934 in Plaines, Georgia, Sammie grew up in Montezuma, Georgia.  She met her husband, George, at Warner Robins Air Force Base and married on September 24, 1955.

Their family grew in Ohio and Oklahoma before settling in Palatine where Sammie cultivated a successful career as a realtor in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago for 35 years.  She loved to visit with friends, play bridge and read.   She developed a passion for travel and visited many places in the US and more than 20 countries.

Sammie is preceded in death by her husband George.  She is survived by her children, George (Julie), Lynn (Dan) Mueller, Laura (Glenn) Moehling, Lisa (Mark) Wortsmann, and, Louise; her siblings, William (Judy) Sears, Ross Sears, Edgar (Deborah) Sears and Linda (Bill) Thompson, her grandchildren, Dan (Katy), Michael (Sarah), Sara, Brian, Mark, Jenny (Danny), David (Elaine), Luke and Kellie; three great-grandchildren and countless friends.
