Sandra K. Peek

Visitation for Sandra Kay Peek (nee Speigle), 84, of Lake Zurich (Forest Lake) Illinois since 1974, formerly of New York, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 2:30pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 3:30pm at Heritage Church 255 N. Quentin Road, Lake Zurich.

Sandra passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, at home on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

Sandra was born November 3, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was talented in creating art and singing and loved to create special memories for family and friends. Her full-time career started and ended at Sears, in customer service. She was married to Tom Klinkert Sr. from 1966 to 1985, the period which Tom, Julie and Jeff were born. She remarried in 1989 to Howard Peek and remained so, until his death in 2014.

Sandra was the beloved wife of the late Howard; loving mother of Tom (Heather) Klinkert, Julie A. Selof and Jeffrey Allen Klinkert; loving grandmother of Rhett (Chandra), Nathan (Maggie), Kaylea (Ben), Louis (Abby), Kate, Saffire, Lexy and Delanie; loving great grandmother of Kenadi, Wyatt, Lucas, Paul, Greyson, Rowan, Faye, Vincent and Remington; dear daughter of the late Ralph and Alma (Nee Rarick) Speigle; fond sister of David, Karen and Linda.

She is predeceased in death include her brother Dick and Virgil.

Sandra was a sister, mom, grandma and great grandma to all her family.  She was a great friend to them all, always giving her time and talent to support her family.  Her annual Sister and Brother weekends in Wisconsin were always filled with laughter.  Her love for people, from family to her church family and friends was an obvious passion of hers. Her steadfast faith enabled her to spread love and joy to so many. She was active in many groups including The Barrington Area Artists Association, Long Grove Artist’s Guild, Ela Township Senior Center where she taught watercolors, book club, bible study, The Village Singers and multiple Heritage Church ministries.

She loved creating beauty whether through her artwork, crafts or growing beautiful flower gardens that surrounded her house in Forest Lake that she enjoyed for 48 years. The house, almost like another family member, had an amazing view from the back deck, overlooking the lake with birds (well fed) flitting about.  This was her favorite place for family and friends to gather, where she made holidays and celebrations special for everyone. She was selfless, generous, had a positive attitude and beautiful smile, always sharing her love and generosity with her entire family and anyone that was lucky enough to have met her.
