Scott R. Mcleod

Visitation for Scott R. McLeod, 77, of Lake Zurich, will be held from 2:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  Visitation will continue on Monday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 24500 N. Old McHenry Road, Hawthorn Woods from 10:00a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00a.m.

Scott was born on July 14, 1940 in Chicago and passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington.

Scott was the beloved husband of Bonnie (nee Meyer); loving father of Scott (Kathy Bradley), Traci (Chuck Huzsek), and Steven (Jessica); loving grandfather (known as G-Pa) of Brayden McLeod and Cameron Weseman. Sister of Sandra Burns and brother of Kurt Pearson (Ann). Uncle to Scott, David, Becky, Robin, Dawn, Sara, Billy, Andrea and Timmy. Former husband of Marlene McLeod.

Scott served in the US Army, drove a CTA bus in Chicago, and had various jobs throughout his life. He retired from Natural Ovens Bakery as a driver in 2006.  He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan, loved to fish and bowl and enjoyed pet turtles, would often sing Willie Nelson songs on karaoke nights. After retirement his hobby was spending time in the garage watching Cubs’ games and playing lottery scratch off tickets.  Scott was a member of the American Legion Post #964, Lake Zurich.

He was preceded in death by his father, Malcom McLeod; mother, Marguerite Koehler; step mother, Martha McLeod; step brother, Bruce Pearson; and father-in-law Paul Meyer.
