Sharon R. Frank

Visitation for Sharon Rose Frank, 88, of Crystal Lake, will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. The burial will follow at St. Matthew Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hawthorn Woods, IL.

Sharon passed away on Tuesday March 18, 2025, at Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital. Sharon was born on July 18, 1936, in Chicago, IL to David and Mabel (nee Wiltermood) Moore. She had two brothers and two sisters; Roger, Roy, Marilyn and Susan (Sue).

After moving from Chicago, she spent the majority of her childhood and young adult life with her family in Lake Zurich, IL. There she attended St. Matthew’s Lutheran School, graduating at the top of her class, and graduated from Ela-Vernon High School in Lake Zurich. She married Robert Frank (Lake Zurich) in 1956, and had two children, Lawrence (Larry) and Brian.

She lived and greatly enjoyed raising her boys in Des Plaines, IL and later employed her considerable typing skills in various key punching/ data entry positions. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, gardening, television and movies and had a great love for music, Broadway musicals in particular, later singing with the musical performing group The Choralettes in the northwest suburbs. But most of all, she proudly loved her family, from her children and their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to her many nephews and nieces, religiously following them on social media. It was that love of them and their accomplishments which was most important of all to her in her last years.

She is survived by her sister, Susan (nee Moore) Okpisz; her sons, Larry (Terry) Frank, Brian (Bonnie) Frank; grandchildren, Daniel Frank, Caitrin (Zachary) Sobota, Conor Frank, Devin (Devin LaSarre) Frank, Colleen Frank; and great-grandchildren, Shayla, Harrison and Franklin Sobota; and many nephews and nieces.
