Visitation for Sharon Alida McGann, 80, of Ingleside, will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Family and friends will meet directly at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine, on Monday, July 22, 2024, where the Visitation will continue from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. The Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside.
Sharon was born on July 15, 1944, to Cyril and Alida Pattyn. She passed away of natural causes, peaceful, surrounded by family and of course a dog on the lake she loved, on Thursday, July 18, 2024.
Sharon received an LPN degree at Harper College. She worked in nursing at Lutheran General and Good Shepherd Hospitals.
She is survived by her 4 children and 9 grandchildren: Thomas (Karen) McGann, Alida McGann, Mary McGann, and David (Adrienne) McGann; grandchildren: Morgan and Ryan McGann, Camden Rose and Frank Degner, Sam, Jake and Liam McGann.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cyril and Alida Pattyn; and husband, Thomas McGann.
Her heart was her beloved cabin in Hayward, WI, where she spent time with family and friends, and her beloved dogs.
